Jonathan said this yesterday in a speech delivered on his behalf by the Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory, Olajumoke Akinjide, to a group of protesters led by former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwezili.
“When a bomb goes off in Bagdad, Iraq, the people of Iraq do not blame the government, they blame the terrorists. Jonathan Might Be Nigeria's Last President -Former Gov. Orji Uzor Kalu

Former Governor of Abia state, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, while speaking with airport correspondents yesterday as he returned from a trip to the UK, said if things are not properly checked politically, President Jonathan might be the last president Nigeria will have.
"When I was travelling precisely on the 26 of April, I left this airport and I spoke to the airport correspondents and I said there was a need to collaborate with international organisations. You see, this issue is not about President Goodluck Jonathan. If we don’t take time and work together as Nigerians, Jonathan might be the last Nigerian President. Jonathan might be the Gorbachev of Nigeria. And that is the truth, so we better wake up. Political class, business class, military, civilians must now stand up to work for our internal security. Internal security is more important than anything we have done and I believe that once we are able to come together Nigeria will be alright. As of now the country is in pains; the country is in problem and some people are taking it very lightly.

According to the report, the hunters numbering about 500 and ranging between 18 to 80 years old have been in Borno state for two weeks now waiting for the government and the military to give them the permission to go after the missing girls.

The hunters say their magic charms would prevent any blood being drawn from their body.  One of the  spokesman for the hunters said
“We're not saying we are better than the soldiers, but we know the bush better than the soldiers. We are seasoned hunters, the bush is our culture and we have the powers that defy guns and knives; we are real men of courage, we trust in Allah for protection, but we are not afraid of Boko Haram. If government is ready to support us, then we can bring back the girls. But if they are not, they should tell us so that we can disband and return to our homes and family,” said one elderly hunter, Baban Kano.

Nigerian Unemployed graduates to receive N19k monthly allowance?

That's what a committee at the on-going National Conference is suggesting...for all unemployed graduates in Nigeria to earn a monthly allowance equivalent to the allowance of members of the National Youth Service Corps, which is N19,800.

Punch reports that the conference’s Committee on Law, Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Reform made the recommendation but it can only fall through if it's accepted by the Federal Government.

A member of the committee said the recommendation was one of the ways the committee members felt that crime could be reduced in the country. He told Punch;
"The recommendation is our own way of finding solutions to the rising wave of crime in the country and to also force the government to do the needful for the increasing number of unemployed graduates in the country. We have done our part and it is left for the delegates to either reject or accept it at plenary.”
I have a feeling FG won't be interested in this. Who thinks it's a good idea?

Gov Shettima Of Borno Tells GEJ To Negotiate With Boko Haram

The Governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima has asked President Jonathan to negotiate with Boko Haram men if that is what it will take to release the abducted Chibok girls. Governor Shettima made this remark during an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour last night.
"The issue of not negotiation with the terrorists – it’s out of the question. If it means talking to the devil, it means the devil can come down, we can get back our girls. The group that kidnapped the girls are a bunch of raving lunatics.
"Do we have any other option? If I have to talk to the devil to secure the release of the girls, I will do so. President Jonathan did not act on time and did not talk to me over the kidnappings until 19 days after.’’
He also said for the first three weeks after the girls were abducted, the whole thing was politicized.

Also speaking, a woman leader of the All Progressive Party Sharon Ikeazor said the situation could have been salvaged on time if the President had acted immediately. She said the girls had their cellphones with them and had contacted their parents about their abduction.

Google puts Mattel and Disney designer Ivy Ross in charge of Glass

Google has just made a creative choice for its new head of Glass, picking one-time   Mattel design lead and noted jewelery artist Ivy Ross. That signals a big shift away from Glass' geeky developer base while it transitions to a full-fledged consumer product. She would fill the position previously held by Babak Parviz as Google's Glass lead and work under Google X for Astro Teller and co-founder Sergei Brin. On the Google Glass G+ page, Ross said that she's spent her career "at the intersection of design and marketing" and that she'll be looking to answer some of the "audacious questions" around Glass. Though she didn't say so, some of those will no doubt revolve around privacy and other contentious issues with the upcoming product.

Jungle Justice again! Suspected Female Ritualist Was Set Ablaze By a Mob In Abule Egba

I can't believe this is still happening in Nigeria! The federal Government Should please make jungle justice a crime punishable by many years in prison? This can't continue happening. We as citizens can't keep taking the laws into our hands. Other wise innocent people will suffer too. The pics from this scene is so gory, I don't know if I should share it.

The woman pictured above was accused of attempting to to kidnap the primary school pupils in the Ekoro area of Abule-Egba, Lagos yesterday May 6th. Eye-witnesses claim the woman stopped the kids, who were aged 7-10 years as they were going to school, and asked to take them to school.

Then a female hawker in the area, suspecting the woman was up to no good, alerted others in the area who then surrounded the woman and started asking her questions. They say the woman they were her children but couldn't give their names and the direction she was taking them wasn't where their school was...plus the children said they didn't know her and before anyone could stop it, they descended on the woman. Beating her to a stupor and then setting her ablaze.
