Pastor, wife arrested for baby selling business in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a pastor and his wife for allegedly kidnapping a new born baby with the aim of selling him to a child trafficker in Nung Ukot, Itu Local Government Area of the state for N300,000.
The pastor and his wife, whose names were given as John and Deborah, were reported to be in the habit of adopting kids with the aim of raising them but instead sell them to child traffickers.
Pastor John, who is reported to belong to a Pentecostal church in the state, while confessing to the crime said: “We have the mission to train children and suddenly we changed our mind, when my wife and I ventured into selling of a new baby for N200,000.00 or N300,000.00 since we have a syndicate who could sell it for us.”
The state police command said the suspects would soon be charge to court over the incidence.
