Consider South East in your appointments - Okorocha appeals to Buhari

From Vanguard
Governor Okorocha made the appeal during a meeting with selected stakeholders in the state over the weekend

"What I can only do is to continue to appeal to the president to consider the South-East in his appointments. And as far as I am concerned, the president had executed what the office empowers him to do, and it is believed that he did that in the best interest of the nation.
Again, most of the appointments the president has so far made are like his personal staff. I don’t think South-East will ever be forgotten in this administration, we will get our due. In fact, if you ask me, I would say we should be more interested in the projects coming down to the South-East, and as much as we can get. The projects will bring about development of the South-East. Although the South-East had expected so much, we believe all will be well with the Buhari presidency and for the development of the South-East. It is wrong for some people to begin to use the issue to incite the people of the South-east against the president.

Dear readers: My sister confessed she is in love with me & I don't know what to do

My sister is in love with me. I am 3 years older than her at 20. I never expected this to happen although we've always been very close. Recently she has been cold towards me and ignores me a lot. Even when I asked her what was wrong she wouldn't respond properly. She locks herself in her room and cries constantly.
Our parents are divorced and we live with mom who is too busy with her work to take care of us. She isn't home enough to see the condition my sister is in. Then one day I noticed my sister had even resorted to cut her wrists so i decided to force her to tell me what was wrong and she ended up kissing me and telling me that she loved me in the wrong way. I was too shocked to do anything. I've never thought about her in any way other than family though. I don't want to hurt her. What should I do please help?

We have no ethnic agenda - Osinbajo

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, said on Thursday that the battle against corruption by the present administration had no ethnic agenda.
He said this when traditional rulers of the Yoruba extraction in Northern Nigeria and Abuja paid him a courtesy visit at the state House.
According to him, there is no country in the world that had become great through corruption, adding that corruption always fought back when being battled.
He said Nigerians should discard such notions and embrace the virtue that a corrupt person should be made to account for his misdeeds.
“You hear people saying that the reason that man is being tried for corruption is because he is Yoruba, he is from the North, and he is from South South.
“We must not encourage those kinds of ideas. If a person steals, he ought to be punished and made to return what he has stolen because the money does not belong to him.

Story: My dad saved me, and I killed him

I killed my dad. I didn't blow him away with a gun. Instead, I let him die. I pulled a kitchen chair up next to him and watched him struggle to breathe on the floor. The skin on his face turned a reddish-purple. His neck took on a bluish tint. Both his hands clutched tightly at his chest. And suddenly, the white in his eyes became spider-web etched, in blood-red lines.

Why did I do it? It's complicated.
I loved the son of a bitch more than anything on the planet. You see, 28 years earlier, I was born a cripple. A breech birth, feet first, my head stuck in the birth canal. By my first birthday, I couldn't crawl, stand or walk. My right arm and hand awkwardly clung to my torso. At first, the doctors told my dad I would never walk or run normally because the muscles in my right leg and arm would continue to atrophy.
When I was 3, Dad brought me to Children's Hospital in Boston for answers. They told him I had cerebral palsy. A loss of oxygen to my brain had destroyed brain signals to the right side of my body. The doctors recommended that I attend private schools. They gave him a long list of places that could better care for cripples like me, and they prescribed a full-length removable leg cast to wear at bedtime.

Story: My Wife Just Found Out I'm Gay (read)

From an anonymous reader.
I have always known I had an attraction to other men.  When I was a boy I didn't really think about it as being gay.  When I was in college and it was very strong, I just didn't think of being gay as a lifestyle option was a choice for me.  I graduated college, got my first job, fell in love (with a woman) and was married.  The thoughts of other men never went away.  Sometimes they were almost uncontrollable and other times I kept them in the background.  About 13 years ago my wife and I separated and I had my first adult homosexual experience.  It was profound but scary and, again, I didn't want to travel that road.

“Women’s Liberation is The Reason Why Most Marriages Are Failing” – Bishop David Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo, The GO of Winner’s Chapel and founder of Covenant University, , has pinpointed the idea of gender equality and women liberation as the reason for the high rate of divorce cases in the world. The pastor made this known during the third service of his church in Ota, Ogun State on Sunday., He noted during his sermon that the increasing call for and approval of equality between women and men has spilled into their marital lives. The man of God added that such women now equate themselves with their husbands, against the biblical doctrine which states that women ought to be submissive to their husbands and that men should love their wives.

Meet the American Who Went to Iraq to Fight ISIS But Ended Up Taking on Iran

When Ryan O’Leary went to war for the third time, he was expecting to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS), the militant group that has captured vast swathes of Iraq and Syria. After serving with the Iowa National Guard in Iraq in 2007-8 and then in Afghanistan in 2010-11, he went back to Iraq earlier this year of his own volition. The intention, he told the Des Moines Register in June, was to train Kurdish soldiers — the Peshmerga — to drive ISIS out of its northern Iraqi strongholds. “ISIS isn’t just a fight for them,” he said then. “It’s a fight for all of us.”
But the 28-year-old’s journey took a slightly different direction once he got to Iraq. Now, O’Leary is patrolling the border between Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan embedded with a faction of the Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI) deep in the Qandil mountains. And he’s training the soldiers not to fight ISIS, but Iranian forces he says are repressing Kurdish minorities in the region. “I’ve pretty much changed my view,” he tells TIME in a telephone interview. “There’s no difference between Iran and ISIS, they do the exact same thing to these people. It’s just not reported as much.”
